The God Father

Don Vito Corleone, he is known as one of the respected leaders of the Mafia - Sicily in New York City America, even though he is a mercenary underworld leader who controls various illegal business activities and lives in a dark world of crime, he is not cruel like a mafia leader -Other mafia. Corleone was known as a man who was logical, fair and generous.

Besides running his business, he is often visited by anyone to ask for help. He never gave an empty promise. No matter how poor or weak any person who asks for help, Corleone will put the person's troubles in his heart and he will do anything to help that person. Only one thing he wants. Namely the person expressed his friendship with Corleone. This caused him to be called the honorable "Don", and another more loving call, "Godfather".The Corleone family is the most influential and respected mafia family among other Mafia families in the United States. Its influence spreads from the police,prosecutors, labor unions, Hollywood, to the White House. His illegal business centered on Long Island spreads from gambling, liquor, real estate, horse racing bets, etc. One business that he does not touch is narcotics. Don Corleone considered narcotics a dirty business that would damage his influence in official government.

At first the Corleone family lived safely. Its illegal business runs smoothly and profitably, without danger, without interference from both the official government and other mafia families. But this peace was disrupted when Sollonzo, who was supported by the Tattaglia mafia family, one of the five influential Mafia Families in America as well as the main rival of the Corleone family, invited him to work together to do the narcotics business. Of course Don Corleone refused.

Don Corleone's rejection caused heartache for Sollonzo and the Tattaglia family. Coupled with the fact that without Corleone's support it would be impossible for Sollonzo to carry out his narcotics business. Unexpectedly Don Corleone was shot by Sollonzo's accomplice while buying fruit with Freddie, his eldest son. Of course this shooting has the potential to trigger a war between the mafia.

Don Corleone escaped death, but was injured quite badly, while Freddie seemed very depressed because of the incident. As long as Don Corleone was in care, the reign of the Corleone family was controlled by Sonny Corleone, Don Corleone's second son and assisted by Tom Hagen as the consigliere (advisor) of the Corleone family.

Sonny took the initiative to finish Sollonzo's life through Michael (Don Corleone's third son). This mission was carried out perfectly and to avoid legal snares, Michael was rushed to Sicily, Italy.

The recovery of Don Corleone was exploited by the Tattaglia family to avenge Sollonzo's death and smooth his narcotics business. A tragic event returned to the Corleone family, weakening his business.

This makes the wise Don Corleone take the step of a countryman to stop endless revenge between families. Success with his peaceful mission The Godfather resigned from the world of mafia. The story isn't over yet. Corleone's youngest son, Michael Corleone with his brilliant steps continued to strive to restore the glory of the Corleone family kingdom.
